Rosina Flower

'Ruskin said "paint what you love" and this has always been my philosophy. I don't remember a time when painting wasn't part of my life and my love of light, colour and paint continue to bring renewed excitement'.

I soon realised that I needed to be a painter, my first love and have continued to be fully committed and excited by any subject. A touch of light on a piece of furniture or fruit, a pot or the colour of a flower or the sky will take me off on a journey. It's a spontaneous feeling. I go straight in with the paint with great energy to capture whatever set me off in the first place.

I use any medium at hand but generally acrylics or oils. I work mostly around my house and studio but enjoy painting outdoors when I can, capturing the mood of the changing landscape.

I find the hardest part of painting is talking about it. It comes from such a deep place but I hope that my work speaks for me.
